Recently my trusty Edifier S2.1D died on me and it’s spurs me to hunt for another set speakers to replace it.

After some reading and researching on various speakers, I have zoomed down to this particular speakers which is the Cosair SP 2500. Cosair wasn’t the type of company that I would have imagined selling speakers, but nevertheless this particular model of theirs seems to be getting lotsa rave reviews.

After hunting down one set in Sim Lim Square, I quickly tugged it back home and quickly set it up. This is by far one of the speakers that I din really test it with my ears before purchasing it.

I was hoping that the sound would sound right to my ears immediately after setting up, but apparently I find the sound is lacking as compared to my previous Edifier. I do know that speakers normally will sound better after some days or even weeks to break in.

Let’s wait a few days and see how it’s goes.

I have not been successful to introduce my new Aztech HL110EW to my existing pair of HL280E until moments ago. For the past few weeks, I’m unable to get my iphone and ipad to connect wireless to the HL110EW.

After googling for a while, I noticed that people had similar issues as me. They gotten some help from Aztech, it seems that a firmware upgrade to the HL280E will solve the problem. You may get the firmware here.

ftp.aztech.com/support/SINGAPORE/HomePlug/HL280E%20Firmware%20version%20224.2.2-023.zip

The issue resolved after upgrading the firmware on my pair of HL280E. Hope it helps you as well. Please take note this is not an official firmware from Aztech yet.

Had a smooth ride from Jetstar and arrived at Taoyuan airport around noon time.

We proceed to limousine counter at the airport and paid around NT1300 for the journey from airport to our hotel near the Taipei Main Station (台北车站). The journey was swift and we had a good chat with the driver asking him various Taiwanese food and where to find them .

After checking into our hotel, we proceed to Taipei Main Station to purchase our tickets to Hualien for the next day.

The Taipei Main Station is connected to the underground Taipei City Mall (台北地下街), hence we decided to do some exploring there.

An interesting sign we came across.

We walked passed an eatery and decided to take a short break to fill our empty stomach. The smell of the smelly beancurd was quite strong, but that’s didn’t stop me from trying it! The taste was quite good, but the soup wasn’t really hot though. Nevertheless the ingredients tasted great.. at least to me.

We passed by an ISP (Far Eastone) and I went in to purchase a 5 days pass for unlimited 3G in Taiwan. The cost is NT$350, not too bad.

After some walking we decided to head back to the train station to take the MRT to Taipei 101. The MRT system in Taipei they called it the Taipei Metro. As we are not planning to do any aggressive traveling with Taipei, we did not purchase the MRT passes for tourists. We just opt for the normal single trip. The MRT “tickets” purchased are in the form of tokens.

When we reached Taipei 101, the weather wasn’t great and we were told that the top floor will be closed due to the bad weather.

We came back down from the tower and walked around in the shopping mall. We came across a KFC outlet. I remembered my classmate recommended me to try out their egg tarts which she said was better than Singapore. I would say the taste is rather similar, not fantastic.

Taking the MRT back to our hotel.. we were rather tired already after the 4 hours plus flight.

Back to the hotel, I tried the SIM card that I have purchased and slot it into my Huawei E5830. It didn’t work automatically as expected. But anyway it was easy to configure to make it work. The display of the Huawei MIFI didn’t managed to display the wordings correctly, but who cares, it’s working anyway.

Recently, I do not know for whatever reason my wireless router doesn’t seems to churn enough power to reach the far end of my house.

Hence when I’m surfing on my iPad in my bedroom, my wireless connection will drop consistently. As this is getting too frequent, a solution has to be deployed.

Aztech HL110EW supposed to able to tap on my existing pair of HL280E. I’m gonna get from Sim Lim Square and set it up tonight. Stay tuned.
