Project Perth Travelogue Day 1 Part 2

Before we reach Albany, we dropped by Mt Romance for a visit, since it’s on the way. Mt Romance is a company that does sandalwood oil.

Reached Albany around 12 plus to 1. We checked in Albany Comfort Inn. Nice little place. Nothing much to rant about.

Right after we took out our luggages from the car and move into our rooms, we drove out to the town to get something to eat. We settled our lunch at Dome Café. Quite a nice place with a generous serving of food. The portion for fish and chips I ordered was hugh, good enough for two person I would say. The service was good too.

This place has lotsa seagulls flying around, probably because Albany is situated around a port on the southern coast hence all the seagulls.

We went around the supermarket to get some bread and smoked ham for our breakfast tomorrow. I got my favorite can of baked beans as well. Lastly, we bought a bottle of Jacob’s Creek Carbernet Merlot @ AUD $9.90! Walau eh.. can drink like no tomorrow in this place… wine so cheap!

We proceed to Mount Clarence.

Cast bronze figure on the top of Mount Clarence. This memorial commemorates the men of the Australian Light Horse Brigade as well as the New Zealand Mounted Rifles, the Imperial Camel Corps and the Australian Flying Corps who lost their lives in Egypt, Palestine and Syria between 1916 and 1918.

Climbed to the top of Mt Clarence, it’s very windy and cold up at the top.

Looking far away stood the Albany Wind farm that we are going to visit the next day for our wedding photo shoot.

Driving back, we stopped by as we noticed a lot of seagulls gathering near the beach. This is as near as I could get to the bird.. around 2m plus away. This is shot using my nikon 55-200vr @ ISO 400. Not bad lah. This seagull is not handicap, juz that it likes to stand on one leg.

After the shooting, we went to the restaurant nearby to have our dinner. A lobster pasta to finish the day right.

David and Yang Hui wanted to go to the nearby petrol station to get some water.. while waiting for them to be back.. I was completely knocked out for the day. Sorry to David who was waiting for me to open the red wine to enjoy.

Stay tuned for Day 2 updates! More fun awaiting at the Wind Farm!
